hi folks i am a first time poster here
i must say i have been lurking here for a while and have found it to be a terriffic resource
I have checked the faqs and forums but can't seem to find an answer relavent to my prob

here is my problem:
i found info on DVD2SVCD here and thought i would use it to make vcds from avi files
every attempt i make succesfully produces the bin and cue sets
-they burn fine (using Nero 5.5)
playback on my standalone (Audiologic ADV802PS)
stutters during playback i.e. video looks good sound present except the picture stops and starts about once a second

i have tried various settings but result is always the same

after reviewing the log it appears the video is beng encoded into PAL instead of NTSC
and for the life of me i can't seem to find where to change it

most vcds and svcds usually play just fine
(unfortunately other encoding wethods i have tried produce poor quality thus my wish to use DVD2SVCD)

my pc is a 1.6 ghz intel
256mb ram
winxp SP1

i have pasted my log file from a small test clip i processed

ANY suggestions or help you can offer would be greatly appreciated

TIA

I seem to have made a real noob mistake
the source avi i hav is 25 fps therefore PAL so i assume i have to convert to NTSC BEFORE using DVD2SVCD
now i have perused several threads to figure out that step
and i have a second question :
any suggestions as to the best way to convert PAL to NTSC
without sacrificing quality too much?
and in this case is it worth it to rerun through DVD2SVCD
after conversion or just convert straight to mpeg and burn
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Again I apologize for not reading all the faqs etc. closer it seems to me i should have picked up the PAL/NTSC thing sooner lol (I kind of assumed it was part of the same process)
TIA

Now I'm totally at a loss
after getting some NTSC sample clips
I am still getting same stutter
i tried to burn the muxed file but nero said it was mpeg2 not mpeg 1
then tried to burn svcd instead of vcd with muxed file
svcd stuttered

then i took same sample clip ran it through TMPGenc in vcd wizard
burned with nero, worked just fine

I must be missing something please help lol

TIA
