No one seems to have felt this was worthy of a post, but here it is for anyone interested. Here is the change log.

Looks like some changes have been made to the engine. I wonder if the quality has improved. Anyone tried it yet?

Yes...it has some cool features(copying chapters, layer, etc.).
It is faster. I have found that DVD2One is just as good as anything else if you are doing a DVD that is 5.75 gigs and under (whole dvd that is). My eyes see a difference at around 6 gigs for a full dvd. Shrink is better here. Myself, I usually backup only movies....most movies are not the length of LOTR so DVD2One is quite good, especially if you are in a rush.

Ron, have you done any "apples to apples" comparisons to version 1.30? I'm just trying to figure out if there are any actual changes in the inner workings of the engine, besides the added features, of course.

oddwun,
I tried redoing a few movies with DVD1.3 and 1.4. These are movie only. They are Pirates of the carib., Shrek, and LOTR (a real test).
To be honest I had to go over to the rich high tech neighbours house to see a difference. It was there though..on a 42 inch Pioneer Plasma (I am not so lucky). On a TV though, you will not see a difference. On the plasma there appeard to be less "blockiness", although all backups were pretty good. I use DVD2One for quick jobs where original size is not too large. Reencoding is still the best way to do LOTR, although I did get superb results with Shrink.

Thanks, Ron!
Right after I originally bought DVD2one, then DVDShrink was becoming popular and I switched to it. Your report sounds like good news, so I will pick up version 1.40 and try it out for myself and see how it looks on my rig.
I agree, for top quality in compressing, CCE or TMPGEnc is tops, though Kedirekin (spelling) is right that nothing beats an uncompressed backup. :D
