View Full Version : is interlaced support working in latest divxpro?

I'm doing some experiments on mp4 encoding of interlaced videos (DV), with both xvid and divxpro. Xvid works as it should, encoding and decoding interlaced material in the right way.
Divx pro 5.1.1 on the contrary seems to encode interlaced video (selecting encode as interlaced in the encoder configuration window)the same way it handles progressive material. In fact when i look at the decoded frames i see that the chroma channels of the two fields aren't decoded/rendered separately but there's a sort of melting. If an original frame contains two adjacent lines that have very different colours (because they belong to different fields), they are decoded with a colour that seems to be a sort of average/interpolation of the two original colours.
Has anyone noticed this strange behaviour?
I can elaborate more on this and give more details, if needed.
Bye!
