Hi

I have a old known problem with scenarist & sub pics

'Can't encode. The bits compressed for one line is more than 1440. [Subpicture encoder]'

I found no satisfying way.

can i build the *.sp from the bmp with a other program?

Those .sps are built on-the-fly as Scenarist compiles your product. I haven't found a solution for those, except to either 1) edit the bitmap file referenced in the .sst, or 2) delete the reference from the .sst entirely.

I edit the file but the error come again
so I deleted the complete sub but
the eng. sub stream witch went well has the same error yet
I don't know why the bmps are the same

You can avoid that error by converting your problematic .bmp files to .jpeg with Photoshop or similar program that produces decent quality jpeg images.:)

hi,

i have found a really quick'n'dirty-way ;) to do this really fast: i just copy the *.sp before the one that produced the error and rename it. scenarist doesn't complain and the subs aren't that important to me that i'd need them to be perfect (i don't watch them anyways)...

Too bad there's no freeware util with CLI... I'd add it as an option for 100% reliability.

I still own this tool from about 1 month.
I never used it as you show in the last threads and i want understand:
- how do you use it ( convert all the bmps to jpg and then modify the .sst script ) ?
- what is , other than the mentioned above , the real advantage of doing so ( for example , speed up in scenarist importing ) ?

I use it as you described it.
after that i make the Reauthorist script

I use it because the error

'Can't encode. The bits compressed for one line is more than 1440. [Subpicture encoder]'

won't show up.

it isn't faster but it worked fine :)
