I have a file which seems to be MPEG2 (SVCD - probably PAL DVD source).
I opened it in DVD2AVI 1.76, created a D2V project file then used VFAPI to convert that to an AVI. Converted the MP2 stream to MP3 ABR using LAME (recent version).
Then I used VDub 1.4.13 to Fast Reprocess that to DivX 5.0.5 (1-pass quality, quantiser 2, neutral bicubic resize, telecide() to get rid of frame shifting), and muxed with the MP3 using NanDub 1.0rc2.
The resultant AVI plays OK on some PCs, but not on others (all Duron 800MHz-1.3GHz/256MB/32MB graphicsWinME machines which play other DivX 5.0.5 AVIs fine). The problem seems to be that instead of playing at 25FPS, the AVI plays at 20-24FPS - playback has sudden jerks (but NO dropped frames) and audio is out of sync. On the PCs where playback is OK, FPS is close to 25 fps.
Can anyone offer some light on this?
thanx
