View Full Version : Back up only 1 episode? UPDATE

Using... whatever tools (instant copy, decrypter.. whatever), is it possible to rip only 1 episode off a single DVD, then another episode off another DVD? Or, is it rip it all, then combine them?
IS, it possible to combine them on a single DVD?
If so, is it possible to create menus for this? Well, I guess that is a moot question, for, if it is possible to make 2 episodes off of 2 DVDs onto a single DVD, thennnn its possible to create the menu, right?
I have seen quite a few posts on episode backups (and there assorted troubles), but, not any specifically related to my situation.
Course, I am sure, that someone with more knowledge than I (not too hard) about the process, will come along and point me out an existing thread on this. If so, please accept my apologies.
Any tips?

What I would do is rip the episodes with DVD Decrypter in IFO mode and use DVD Lab to import them in and author with menus.

I thank you for your prompt reply. My intent is to use TNG episodes, and create... a Borg series, a Q series.. etc.
I shall give it a go, and report back this week.
Thanks again. BTW, I had seen quite a few posts on this DVDLab, and, finally checked out the site. Seems quite the tool. Will try it out.
I do have, quite a few authoring tools. Is it just that this is one of the best/easiest to use, or, that it is reasonably priced (comparatively speaking)?

Premiere or Liquid Edition (which I really want to give a go), would these not work as well as/better than, DVD Lab. Its just that I already have these, and, wonder if it is necessary to buy another proggie.
However, if DVD Lab "specializes" in this type of process, then, by all means, I will buy it.

Premiere and Liquid edition are only video editing packages, they dont do authoring (however premiere 6.5 came with a crappy little authoring package).
what 2COOL is suggesting is to demux the episodes, then author them all together with your prefered authoring program, or he suggests DVDLab, which is pretty cheap, and easy to use.
