Because it would make GordainKnot extremely easy to install using an unattended CD....ie.WinXP unattended CD that installs GKnot during GUI RUINONCE at the 13min mark, or at FIRST logon.....
Saves me having to reinstall EVERYTHING every time I do a reboot

Um... crazy question here....
Why do you (have to) reinstall GKnot when you reboot?

Because I like to reinstall my OS once in a while....can ANYONE help me out here. Please quit asking questions, I need answers! :D
I would like to create GK (both packs) into one .msi installer,
so I can run a simple.....GKSetup.msi -qn
with predefined selections
as silently as possible and with COMPLETE ease.
IS - THIS - ACHIEVABLE???

...Please quit asking questionsDo not be ungracious when you are asked clarifying questions.
As I see it, you have three choices: You could continue down your current path. Unfortunately, history shows success is unlikely (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7770&highlight=free+pies).
You could do the work yourself (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/gordianknot).
You could use the IT industry standard methodology for desktop computer management -- configure a system the way you want it, then take an image backup of it that can be easily restored. There are commercial tools like Norton Ghost for this purpose, and for free software that produces the same results; any CD-bootable Linux system you download can produce the same sort of recoverable disk image.

Might I suggest that if you either have to reinstall your OS or GKnot each time you simply reboot your computer that something is going horribly wrong with your setup. I might tackle that issue instead of wasting time generating a new installer for GKnot. If your system is so unstable as to require programs to be reinstalled after rebooting, surely it affects other programs installed on your computer as well. Additionally, if you have to reinstall GKnot and its subprograms each time you reboot your machine, it's likely that it'll crash during an encode anyway.

No, it's not that, it's just, I like to Reformat, Repartition and reinstall WinXP Pro once in awhile, and unless I can find the command switch to silently install the original setup, I was just going to create an windows installer version of the setup with pre-defined install settings... that's all.
NOTE: And why would you strike me jggimi, I am not ungrateful and haven't broken Rule#2....where did you get that idea? I am just curious as to what goes...Everyone keeps asking me questions that I myself do not find to be "clarifying"...it's plainly put that I reinstall my OS, so why keep asking the same question? anyone got the silent install switch for GK rip pack and Codec Pack?

You asked:...And why would you strike me jggimi...I chose to issue a strike for Rule 2, "Respect the netiquette." I did so for how I perceived your tone towards other members, and, to the lead developer for GKnot, specifically. I perceived it as disrespect, which I determined to be caused by not being aware of your audience.
A strike is merely an "official warning," and has no impact unless 3 are collected within 30 days. It is also private. Of course, they can also be made public in the forum by the member, as you did. In some instances, the moderator may choose to do so, if circumstances require it.
You may not have meant it the way I perceived it, and, of course, reasonable people can come to different conclusions, which is why there is a published appeals procedure in the sanctions link of the forum rules web page:If you wish to contest a strike send a PM to Doom9....You may not like our rules, xl_djk, but you did agree to them when you joined the forum....anyone got the silent install switch for GK rip pack and Codec Pack?Follow the second link in my previous post. It is the top link to the CVS source code structure for Gknot. The installation software is the third link down.

Not a problem, you are the MOD, so I can't argue with you....I have no disrespect to ANY member unless warranted.....Definitely none was meant, I had just found that the questions being asked were being answered and that I was being asked in "different wording" about my inital intentions... thanks for the link........I know this might sound silly to ask, but is there a more simpler way of doing this? LOL.... oh, and would you happen to know the install switches?
