View Full Version : Using Sony DigiCam as MPEG-Player?

I Friend has just bought a Sony DSC-P32, which can Record MPEG-1 Videoclips

The Highest Quality (VGA) delivers following MPEG-Params

640x480 @25fps. GOP-Structure: IIPIIPIIPIIP....

while I-Frames are real Images and P-Frames are just Dupes of the previous I-Frame. This results in a jerky 16,66 fps Video, because the Cam internally records with 25fps and then drops every 3rd frame (the P-Frame).
With some more or less complicated precudures, I am able to restore this dropped frame using AVIsynth and Motionperfect. But that's not the Point for now...

The lower Quality (called E-Mail) results in those Parameters:

160x112 @ 25fps. GOP-Structure: IPPIPPIPP...
This will be real 8,33 fps

Now I try to Encode such kind of clip (VGA or E-Mail) myself, but I had no success. The Camera always returns "Datenfehler" (Data-error), when trying to playback this self-made-MPEG.
I've a sample clip ( http://home.arcor.de/scharfis_brain/samples/MOV00013.MPG ) of this cam. Maybe someone is able to reproduce its Parameters with a new encoding, so that this Cam is able to playback the selfmade-File?

btw. I am not the owner of this Cam, so my cycles of tests may be longer...
