ReMpeg2 won't transcode ac3 file

i use virtualdub mod v1.5.10 (even using virtualdub_ac3 & virtualdub v1.5.10) to extract ac3 audio file from an Xvid avi file. after that i load it into ReMpeg but it just stays at 0% & seems to not moving at all....:confused:

umm, rempeg only works on mpeg files.
