I've not had much luck getting the new FairUse to work for me correctly and wanted to go back to using the old version with Madronna for audio, but they are no longer in the download section. I've been able to find an old version of FairUse, but can't find Madronna anywhere. If anyone knows where I might get a hold of it please respond. Thanks.

Hi, could you tell me more about you having no luck "getting the new FairUse to work correctly", so I get a chance to make things better ?

Sorry Ump, I didn't get into it because I didn't have any logs or anything saved...

I've tried 3 DVDs so far and on each FairUse has only encoded 18 minutes or so of the movie. The first was a HK DVD so I thought it might just be a problem with the media. The second was the new release of Alien, and I don't recall off hand what the third film was.

I checked that I had selected the whole movie. I used the auto-add button. I didn't make any changes (I'm not sure if you are supposed to modify anything if you choose auto-add), and was using Xvid.

The encoding takes a very short time and I end up with a 15-18 minute avi.

The older version with madrona for audio always worked for me.

If you would like I'll try again and send you whatever logs ect you want.

I do love the FairUse setup, and appreciate that you continue to work on the program. The request for madrona wasn't meant as a slight, just wanted a version that worked for me while still playing around with the newer one.

You might want to give a try to 0.34b if not already done. 0.34/0.34a were flawed and had hangs during the encoding process.
You don't have to configure anything in particular, just use the auto-add button of your favorite codec, through I would recommend XviD :)

Hey Ump, I just tried the new version...and I've just done a major upgrade (motherboard/cpu/ram) on my system with a clean install...and this time FairUse 0.34b went all the way through. I used the autoadd button and Xvid codec. Problem is that even though I asked for 1 disc 700meg encode I ended up with an avi that was 1.68 gigs, no split. I had it set to remove intermediate files, so I have no log.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Just redid the same encode...no changes...but this time it came out with the right size. Just a one time glitch? Hope so. Worked quite well this time. Forget my request for Madrona. =)

I really have no idea about what did happen at the first encode, sorry

Does FairUde work together with the newest xvid-build (beta3 or gamrs-builds)?

Thanks for your replies
