EZ-D and piracy

They claim that the EZ-D will stop piracy because it becomes unusabe after 48 hrs. What's to say that the first thing you do after you "rent" one of these movies is pop it in your computer (which is also my primary DVD player) and rip it? Isn't this feasable, or is there something where you step within 5 feet of a computer and the disc randomly explodes?

Good point, and here's a link to EZ-D technology explained. The mention one way to get around the process for the short term is to put it in a liquid to slow down the oxidation process. From an environmental standpoint, wouldn't the effect of widespread EZ-D DVD's be really bad for the environment? I mean look at all the CD's AOL and MSN send out to people like candy. It's a waste of resources, both in materials and by the companies' money to try to find a way to thwart the inevitable.
