I used :
- decrypting : DVD Decrypter
- DVD copy : the "DVD Shrink 3 - full movie" procedure, indicating the parts I don t want as still pictures.
- Burning : Nero, "DVD-video, no multissesion, new
- using the Pioneer DVR-A04 CD-R/RW writer

The resulting DVD-disk plays perfectly well on my PC, using POWER DVD.
However, using the same DVD-R disc on my Pioneer DVD DV-454 player results in "can't play disk".

What should I do ?Shrink result does not play on my Pioneer DVD player

Did you just burn a UDF disc in Nero, or use their built-in DVD template? I've never just burned a UDF disc for a movie, so I can't help on a possible settings error. However, try using ImgTool (or ImgTool Classic) to create an image from your Shrink files, then burn the image with Nero. Also, before you do that, do a 'Get VTS Sectors' with IfoEdit on your files; if you've never done it before, open up IfoEdit, open up any IFO in your movie directory, and hit 'Get VTS Sectors'. This is required for standalone playback, and I'm not 100% sure if Shrink does this (never really use it except for movies that I strip excessive amounts of audio tracks). Good luck.

This seems a typical Nero problem. I've tested the same movie burned with Nero and Record Now Max on a Pioneer player. The 'RNM' version played fine, the Nero version was rejected. It did play on other players, though. It is a known problem that Nero produces not 100% compliant discs, and that Pioneer is picky about compliancy. I'd go for the 'create image with ImgTool Classic', and burn that with either Nero or DVDDecryptor. That should do the trick !

Nero works fine on Pioneer players. Make sure to choose UDF/ISO, no multisession, ISO level 2, ISO 9660, allow pathdepth of more than 8 directories, allow more than 255 characters in path, and do not check "Joliet". I've burned literally hundreds of discs using Nero and played them back on a Pioneer DV414 (old model)player without a hitch.

Also, you might want to try ripping with SmartRipper.

It's the newer Pioneer models that give problems with Nero burned discs. The old ones (like yours) are not so picky about compliancy...

I also just bought a Pioneer DV-563A (brand new model) and they play fine on that unit as well. In my experience, it has always been the older players that are the toughest for compatibility.
