Firstly, I would like to apologies. I managed to complete the task with the 1st LOTR film, but it was so long ago I seem to have forgotten the exact process I used.
Below is a short description of the steps I have taken, and the problems I am having.
1. DVD Decrypter: Movie only for both discs. Saved in different directories.
2. DVD2ONE: Compressed each disc seperately, to 2300Mb each. (Although this seems high the result seems to be ok, though I am having touble in Powerdvd selecting the last 20mins or so. It does seem to play ok.)
3. VobEdit: Took vobs from each disc then renamed 001 to 005 in a new directory. Joined clips to VIDEO_TS directory.
4. Ifoedit: (I remember having problems with this prog before, so it would be helpful if exact method is explained.) I "Create Ifo" for the vobs, change langauge to English, save then "get vts", then close.
The next problem is, of course, green subs. I understand that I need to select PGC_1 and copy subs from the original disc and paste them into my ifo's, but it does not seem to work. I load the files from the dvd - copy subs from PGC_1, then load my ifo's - paste subs into PGC_1. I then GET VTS which saves the new files and I quit.
Note: The first dvd seems to have several PGC files is PGC_1 the file woth the subs info?
I am now left with a dvd on hd that my pc tells me is 4.12gb. Still with green subs and with the last 20min section unselectable in powerdvd.
Please can you help me. I know the task can be done like this, because I have done it before with lotr1!
