Have you also a CD or DVD drive ???

Is your writer placed 2nd on the IDE cable (this flat Grey one) ???

When yes, Maybe you forgot to set your writer as slave...

Bye

I have the writer as the slave on the flat gray cable...
I meant, If you have set the jumper on your writer right !!!
It worked for a few dvds and now it won't recognize the writer no more
Sounds strange...

Could be a software problem, or a hardware problem either !!!

Best method to find out whats wrong is to reconstruct all stuff you have done before it stopped working... ;)

What software have you installed till this point ???

Did you changes in hardware setup ???

Did you add other hardware ???

Did you change something in your bios ???

Did you re-install the drivers for your writer ???

Did you already check the cable connections ???

Otherwise it could be that your writer is simply broken... :(

Try to remove your other drive and connect the writer as master to check this out !!!
