OK .. been doing divx and SVCD encodes for a while, i attempted a DVD-9 to DVD-5 backup of Mr. Deeds Fullscreen *using CCE 2.5 w/ DoItFast4U/DoCCE4U/ReAuthor/Scenarist combo* ..

No error messages throughout the entire process (did the extras at 9 passes and did the movie itself at 4 passes) .. kept the subs and stripped the audio commentary / french track

I followed the guide to a tee and a few things happened.

Using IMGTool .. i made an ISO (as I did with the original DVD after ripping it w/ DVD Decryptor) .. the original image works perfectly (as it should) .. the recompress i did .. does not  (using the software listed above)

The columbia intro trailer plays .. then it goes to the 3rd chapter of the actual movie (then proceeds to freeze) ..

If you try to navigate this DVD .. the movie is not even in the chapter list; but it's on the DVD (the vobs are there in the right order and all).

What did I do wrong ?? (i didn't get any error messages, and i followed Doom9's guide) .. any suggestions??

My advice, don't remove anything at all.If audio tracks are removed DoItFast4U adds dummy tracks which don't always work.If you want to dave space go into the working directory and transcode the tracks you won't use to the lowest 2ch bitrate possible with BeSweet.

I figured out what I did wrong (i'm dumb) .. anyhow!! :D

Best way to do this (as per the guide):

move the vobs into the ORIGINAL directory .. THEN update the IFOs.

(instead of moving all the ifos / bups)

Here's the new situation. VIDEO_TS.VOB is a little too big (when i do it this way, i end up with a size of about 4,900,000,000) .. is there any way to fix this? (or should i reauthor again)

How much over are you? hopefully only a few MBs.

Are there any menu languages or audio/subtitle language streams you could rip out? This stuff is pretty easy with IFOEdit.

You could reauthor some of the smaller, hopefully less important VOBs.

I wonder why the sizing was wrong. My calculations are usually right on the money!
