OK I am having a real big problem with my DVD's. Ok I run windows XP home edition a Memorex Dual Format DVD writer. I have a 1 ghz processor with 396 mbs of ram. I use Nero 6.0 ultra for burning. Ok if I go out and buy ANY type of DVD-R disc I have absolutely no problems burning. If I buy +r's I get to 99% writing and I wind up with an error evertime. The discs I have currently tried are Phillips DVD+R they are capatible with 1x-2.4x. So does anyone have an Idea of what could possible going wrong? Or do I need sometype of driver ? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanx

Sound like its having problems finalizing. Have you tried another app besides Nero?

I use Pinnacle Instant DVD and +r`s with no problems, tried nero6 with +r`s and PowerDVD gave me a disk damaged to inhibit playback message, don`t trust nero at all personally but other people on hear have had good results with it.
I`ve had no coasters out of pinnacle yet (probably 30 +r disks burned).

I saw this problem (finalizing on + medias) more than few times. I'm 99% sure that there is Pinnacle vs. Nero war going on :) It seems that Pinnacle's drivers tend to make problems with Nero.
Uninstall Pinnacle and then try to burn +R. I'm sure it will work now. If I'm right (I'm sure I am ;) and if you want your Pinnacle again, try reinstall, first install Nero - then Pinnacle, first Pinnacle - then Nero,... Maybe you'll be able to get the right combination.

It sounds like you're on the right track. Most problems with Nero can be traced to some sort of driver conflict. On the Nero main site, under the support link, you can download a utility called "Nero DriveClean," which will scan for conflicting drivers and allow you to disable them. But what you're suggesting just may work all on its own.

He could try that, but sometimes there are no exact problems that can be traced, so DriveClean maybe would not work. Like I said, I saw this problem (with exactly same symptoms) many times, and _every_ time there was a Pinnacle-Nero compatibility problem.

I`ve noticed Pinnacle reports a problem with the DVD driver after a Nero install and asks you to click a box to repair the problem (then re-boot) so it looks like they`re both fighting with each other!
