Im trying to extract the audio from the first episodes of the Star Wars VHS ... I'm using the ATI TV player with S-Video IN and trying to record the movie but it seems there is some sort of mechanism to prevent the recording (according to the program...)
Is there anyway to extract the audio only if it wont let me capture the video ? (I was gonna extract the audio from the video...)
thanks

The S-Video cable is video only. I do not use ATI capture equipment, but most PCI based capture cards do not capture sound, the sound is captured by the PC's sound card. Those cards with broadcast tuners have patch cables to send the audio to the soundcard. For more information, see the Capture FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32575) and the Capture Guide (http://www.doom9.org/capture/start.html).

My bad...
The audio is fine too (I use RCA cables that finish into a male plug for soundcards, then my ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9700 PRO is connected to my soundcard...
I do hear the audio when I watch the movie... the only thing is, I dont know how to only capture the audio... because I wanted to capture both the video and audio at the same time since and then extract the audio from the .mpg but it wont let me...

Remove the RCA plug from your ATI card and plug it directly into the sound card.
