I've been working on an anime laserdisc capture that shows a fairly distinct afterimage in high contrast scenes (character flesh tones against dark background, for example), and had been trying to use TMPGenc's ghost reduction filter to get rid of it.
Problem is, each layer used in this filter only produces a set sized line... which means you have to composite multiple layers together in order to get rid of the ghosting if one layer doesn't cover enough area. This leads to overdarkening in the area where the ghosting is tapering off into the background, and sometimes in the middle where two layers intersect.
I was wondering if there was anyway a filter could be made which works the same as the TMPG ghost reducer, but with the ability to set the size of the lines it's producing. I'm not sure how many people work with clips like this, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask.
