Possible to add an additional audio track and leave everything else as is?

I'm a bit confused (due to lots of reading about IfoEdit :D ).
I wanted to do something I thought it might be easily done, but I found out it was more complicated than I ever expected.

I just want to add an additional audio track to an existing DVD structure, with menus, subtitles, and of course already multiple audio tracks. The menu with chapter selection a.s.o. should desirably be kept as it is, I just need the functionality to switch to the newly added audio track during the main movie (via remote o.c.).

I demuxed all streams from the main movie VOBs and remuxed the whole stuff, just having added this new audio to the existing one, using IfoEdit's authoring feature.

Now it starts to become confusing for me. When I replace the old main movie VOBs with the recently remuxed one, I don't know what to do to "just make this audio track visible" for selection via remote control during playback. Don't want to add any button for this to the menu, just to have it selectable during playback.

I looked around, found lots about "reget vts sectors" and "remux" a.s.o., but nothing I tried to do led me to an acceptable result yet.

What I'm really uncertain about is: which IFO files have to be used for the "new" main movie? The ones IfoEdit created whilst authoring? They would be suitable for letting me select the new audio track. But now my chapters don't work anymore. So I try the old IFOs, now chapters work, but no audio selection for the new track.

How can I just enable an additional audio track in this old IFO? And: is this the right way?? Maybe I'm totally wrong...

Sorry for my inconvenience... I hope someone has an idea or can open my eyes to find the right thread dealing with this (if any exists already).

Welcome to the forum! :D

Try this.

AFter you had replace your original VOBs with your new ones, do a mock stream strip. This means going through VOB Extras with strip streams option checked. Also set a new empty destination folder.

In your stream list, KEEP everything. Check all and then press Strip it.

I haven't done this but hopefully your extras audio is detected in your new IFO. Check the IFO's VTS overview of movie attributes. If it's there, replace old set of files with these new ones. Get VTS Sectors and test to play.

When you reauthor your VOBs with IFOEdit you're going to lose your chapters unless you use a celltimes.txt file in "Scene changes / chapters".
So open your VTS_01_0.IFO with IFOEdit, click Tools ---> Save Celltimes to file and you'll obtain a CellTimes.txt you can use while reauthoring.
Once you have obtained your new VOBs, I suggest you to simply replace the old VOBs with these new ones, keeping the old IFOs (I suppose that, because of the menues, you have command tables and other things you are going to lose in your new IFOs).
Now just add your audio streams to the old IFOs according to this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64555) where I answered to a question similar to yours (of course you'll edit the number of audio streams to the number you have, not 1!!!).

Since I remembered to have already done something similar to 2cools solution (which in fact had the result of just stopping dvd playback, even when having done get vts sectors a.s.o.), I tried what dave wrote - not wanting to favor any of You ;)

What Can I say else, it works. The most important point was the editing of the IFO file, according to the linked thread.

I think that's the best to do, share the knowledge, especially in the case of IfoEdit, because there is, in my opinion, very few gathered Information about it, but there ARE lots of people trying to do something special with IfoEdit.
