Question: Does anyone know how to setup Virtualdub with; IULabs drivers, BT848 capture card, on Windows XP, to capture at resolution 480*576?
Theres a lot of commentary here why this cant be done, due to the whole WDM and VFW issue, however I have been using this successfully for a long time, I just cant remember how i originally did it, though i did get the answer from this forum somewhere, and from memory was not a very complex solution.
You see, i formatted my HTPC today, and have spent the rest of the day and all night reading and trying to reproduce the capture config again without any luck.
At http://virtualdub.org/docs_vfwwdm the suggestion is that I should be able to choose this as a capture source, but I cannot (even though the suggested registry settings are correct). All i have available is "Conexant Capture", and i think that this is the root of the problem..
I am hoping to read the 'more info' link on this page http://faq.arstechnica.com/link.php?i=1287 but its broken.
Other things i have tried include, installing the VFWUPD file, DirectX 9b, and the patch to fix that bug, and a another fresh install for fix the DX disaster, all to no avail.
Standard suggestions for this issue are to use IU VCR for capture, or to use BTWDM drivers from sourceforge, however there are reasons why I dont, and that would be another topic.
Its worked once before, so it should work again, just wish i knew how?
