View Full Version : Help with combining movie titles!

I split a movie with DVD Fab (2 disc backup), and the second disc has a problem reading on my dvd player. It also splits the disc at my favorite scene, which is annoying. I want to recombine the movie, and split it manually using DVD shrink. (I don't care about extras) If I rip each sepparate disc to the hd, and used beta 5 to select more than one disc, and reauthor them together, I feel (I haven't tried it) that I'll get 2 sepparate titlesets, and the transition might be bad.
Is there a way I can recombine the disc into 1 titleset (I think this is called seamless branching). The only software I am literate in is DVD Shrink, DVD decrypter, and IFO edit (somewhat literate).
Any suggestions?

Yes - change your thread title - not a good way of attracting help.
Better rip the DVD in File mode and then DVDShrink - it:D

So I rip each movie in file mode? And how do I get DVD shrink to process the individual vts files?

You're better off just re-ripping your original and splitting it in DVD Shrink. You can try rejoining it, but I know that at least RECODE creates new VOBs for each new titleset unless you select the merging option... I'd think it reasonable that DVD Shrink would do the same, since both softwares have the same author. By all means, try recombining it with Shrink (and let us know how it worked, since others may benifit) first... but you may be stuck redoing it from square one.

Redoing it would be the easiest solution, but I don't have the original dvd file. I want to combine a movie that was previously split into 2 dvds. I think that ther must we a way to combine VYS files, but I dunno how.
I want to create an image (or at least a collection of VTS files) that contain an exact replic of the original dvd.
