View Full Version : vob/track issue with DVD2SVCD 1.2.1 Build 3

I'm currently having an issue with DVD2SVCD with regards to selecting tracks from my vob files. With my DVD in question (which incidentally is a music video DVD), it has the single vob file, and the IFO. When I load the ifo into DVD2SVCD, I can clearly see all 4 tracks (with different times of course), yet when I load them and start conversion, it seems to reset to one track in particular every single time. Using Frame Selection, I can verify this without having to encode it each and every time.
I have been using DVD2SVCD for a long time now, yet I have never encountered this before. I made backups of the entire SG-1 season 1 DVD boxset (which includes about 5 tracks per DVD), and it never used to do this before.
I am ripping using internal routines.
A friend also has the exact same problem, except he is trying to rip and encode a different DVD (music video again).
If anyone can shed some light on this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Bump?
Hope I posted this in the right forum btw. If noone can help, can a mod please move it to the Advanced Topics section since I really do desperately need an answer. Thanks!

In all honesty I'm not sure a move would help at this stage. You posted it in the right place. If you look at the names on the posts in the advanced forum you'll see it's all the same faces anyway and that forum gets less hits than this! I think it is just because it's the festive season and everyone's busy.
Just clear a few things up for me and I'll try and find time to do a bit of testing.
There is only one vob file on the DVD, right? Is each track a chapter stop or do you get several movie length's in a dropdown box as per episode DVD's?
Is selecting the track the last thing you do before you hit GO or are you selecting the track, changing settings elsewhere and then hitting go?

Just the single vob file yes. There are 4 movie lengths in the dropdown box (3 are actual videos, with the fourth used for menu animations etc....)
I normally load the ifo, then select the track, and then change all the other settings. So it is pretty much the first thing I do.
Thanks for the reply.

I've had a little play around and can't reproduce your error.
All I can suggest to try is get DVD Decryptor. Set the mode to IFO mode then rip the different PGC's (tracks) individually to different folders.
Then use DVD2SVCD in file mode (ie deactivate DVD ripping and use the folder button instead of the disc button in the conversion tab). Browse for each separate track IFO and convert from there. I'm clutching at straws a bit because as I say I can't reproduce your error.
Hope it works out.
Merry Xmas

Yep, using DVD Decryptor is fine. I guess the error must occur somewhere during the ripping process.
Thanks for the help, and happy christmas :)
