Hi,
I use dvd decrypter 3.1.7.
While decrypting a dvd, little over 50% of the job, I get this error message:

ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 28 00 00 1F 96 70 00 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 2070128

Sense Area: F0 00 03 00 1F 96 70 0A 00 00 00 00 11 06 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: CIRC Unrecovered Error

I usually have no problem whatsoever ripping dvds. I have also tried to use Smart Ripper, and vStrip without better luck. I get the following two errors:
SmartRipper: "Some files are still locked!"
vStrip: "Lost sync (not authenticated?)"

What can I do? Please Help!!!!

David

In this order:
1. clean the disk
2. try to rip with a different DVD-ROM drive if possible
3. get a different copy of the DVD - that particular disk may have a small defect (or a large one for that matter).

Note that small defects may cause no problem for a stand-alone player, but will stop DVD-ROM drives dead in their tracks.

If you continue to have problems, come back and ask if anyone else has had trouble ripping the particular title (including the region).

As requested I tried to rip the dvd on another machine. I got the same error. The disc appear to be in a pretty good shape, and I don't think a few minor scratches may impair the ripping process.

The title of the dvd is "Notre Dame de Paris" (produced by sony) and the region is #2 (Italy).

Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

There is no 'help' to offer.
The disc just cannot be read. That is pretty much 'end of story'.

I suggest you get hold of another copy and try that.

Sounds like it's damaged to me.
You don't say if you have tried polishing it, this works on about 50% of the scratched DVDs that decypter has refused to read for me.
What looks like a minor scratch might be enough to make the disc unreadable.

I don't think it is damaged, I think it is defective. No amount of remediation will fix it if there was a flaw introduced when it was pressed.

Take LIGHTING UK's advice and get a different copy of the DVD.
