1] Im ripping a Cartoon DVD and in DVD2AVI it keeps changing from NTSC 3% to FILM 95%+ now i dont know whether its Forced FILM or None.

And if i set it to forced film then the frame rate chnges to 29.97 and if i set it to none the Frame Rate becomes 23.976???

2] Why does GKNOT say AR as 1.367 when u choose NTSC 4:3, shouldn't it say AR as 1.33?

3] Also what happens when the H-Zoom and V-Zoom are different as it changes with different resolutions while staying at 0% AR error

e.g. A file with 712x400 and 648x364 has AR error as 0% but different zoom rates, would the output in both cases be different, maybe i might loose part of the video?

Anyway thanks for helping out a newbie, One recommendation for GKNOT, something has to be done so we can choose the freq of the audio, 44.1/48 without going into more advanced settings. and also cant GKNOT be fullscreen? or at least something similar.

Hi techz, and welcome to the forum.

NTSC 3% is the same as Film 97%. It sounds as if it can be successfully Force Filmed.

And if i set it to forced film then the frame rate chnges to 29.97 and if i set it to none the Frame Rate becomes 23.976???

You've got it backwards, but that's OK. If you're able to Force Film it, then it removes the information on the DVD that tells the DVD to output 29.97fps for NTSC television sets, and returns the movie to the way it's stored on the DVD. As you know, film (like the movies in a movie theater) runs at 24fps, and by Force Filming it (or IVTCing) you're returning it to it's original form. Why does GKNOT say AR as 1.367 when u choose NTSC 4:3, shouldn't it say AR as 1.33?

That's before cropping that it's 1.367:1. Most will have some black bars on the right and left sides which, when cropped off, will leave you with 1.33:1 or thereabouts. As long as you have low Aspect Error, it doesn't matter much what the AR is.

Also what happens when the H-Zoom and V-Zoom are different as it changes with different resolutions while staying at 0% AR error

H-Zoom and V-Zoom of the resolution are the percentage of the height and width after cropping. It stands to reason that as you change the resolution that the percentages would change.

A file with 712x400 and 648x364 has AR error as 0% but different zoom rates, would the output in both cases be different, maybe i might loose part of the video?

No. And put your W-Modul and H-Modul back to their default settings of 32 and 16 respectively. You might set the W-Modul to 16, but never have either lower than 16.

One recommendation for GKNOT, something has to be done so we can choose the freq of the audio, 44.1/48 without going into more advanced settings.

It's 48 unless you go below 128 bitrate. Keep it that way.

and also cant GKNOT be fullscreen?

If you want to see what the video looks like fullscreen, then play the Preview and fullscreen that.

accept my deepest thanks, and when i meant fullscreen i meant gknot as an application, not the preview, that i can do.
