I posted a bitch about this and no-one ever responded.. ive speend about 12 hours searching the internet about it and nothing ive tried has worked...(uninstall all codecss, video cards, sound drivers etc).. i used codec sniper to kill everything and then reinstalled it all and NOTHING.. I still have the same problems..

Midi... cda.(from an audio cd).. avi(mp3 tracks)... ac3, mp3, wav.. Nothing will play in windows media players.. either versions.. i get the error code that 00000x0b somethign is unpinned? However, it WILL play in realplayer, or quicktime.. go-figure.... i hate those players..

Do I really need to reinstall a fresh installaiotn of windows xp to fix this(i had this problem before and that was the only fix i came up with---different computer.. but same problem..) And what could be causing this.. the onlly thing that is different is someone installed 3 demo games from the internet.. (blizzard games)... im about ready to smack that person in the head..!@!!

Here's a possible fix.. I did it and it worked...

open a command prompt and goto your x:/windows/system32 folder and activate sfc.exe

then tell it to scan.. youll need your winxp home or pro disk..

i did this and BAM.. fixed..
