mf mentioned this in another thread. I'm eager to know wether it will be included in XviD Final. I'm sure many people would appreciate it. I hope I'm not bugging anyone here...

I think he means motion search precision 7.

From dvdrhelp:MPEG-7 is an ISO/IEC standard developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group. MPEG-7, formally named “Multimedia Content Description Interface”, is a standard for describing the multimedia content data that supports some degree of interpretation of the information’s meaning, Unlike previous MPEG standards aimed at encoding, MPEG-7 is not aimed at any one application in particular; rather, the elements that MPEG-7 standardizes support as broad a range of applications as possible.

Hehe, thats what I thought as well at first which confused me since XviD is a codec and mpeg-7 is some other sort of thing. MPEG-7 actually confuses me a lot since the only descriptions of it are like the one above, extremely vague. But I digress, anyway, http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=66806 crOOk, please describe what you are talking about better next time, nobody likes playing guessing games.

Ah kewl BoNz1, I think you may have got the nail right on the head with that link. (Glad I'm not the only one that seemed to be confused!) :D

When I read mp7 I instantly thought the same thing as geoffman.

But if he did mean motion preciscion 7, why would he want it??

It was a real build, sysKin made it for me http://www.everwicked.com/virtualdub/html/emoticons/wub.gif. It enabled some unused ME thingies, that added like 0.000001dB extra quality, but did cost some speed. I loved that mode. If it ever returns, I want it to be named after me again.

Nothing to be gained, and only speed to lose.

What ever happened to Kludge, anyway? Still considering working on that project once XviD1.0 is out? (I think that was you, mf - right?)

I would like to see an open source codec that strayed from a strict MPEG-4 compliance and had some cool features. :)

I haven' t understand.

When xvid 1.0 final will be out, will xvid development continue?

I' m sure of yes.

But what will be xvid afetr 1.0?

Maybe h.264 will be implemented in xvid?

Or xvid 2.0 won ' t be compatible with mpeg, and it will be a codec with a special format (like rv9, vp6, etc)?
