conversion into svcd?

i am trying to convert a dvd movie into svcd. I used dvd2avi to save the project then used tempgenc to convert the project into 2 svcd discs. after the conversion, the audio is way out of synch with the picture. how do i fix this?

also, the movie is a foreign movie (together). how do i get the subtitles into the conversion?
