Need help with Nandub

Hi, I followed the guide (selected the two options) and then went to file, first pass and got this error: Default 1st-pass settings file not found. If I go to "save as" I get: Statistic filename must be set. What is going on? Please help.

Also, I am using nandub 1.0 rc2+divx5.1.1 now. I want to do a file…. I do what the guide says to config. Then go to first pass, a window opens and asks me to save a stats file, I give it a name and press “save”. And then… nothing happens… the file is not saved. Nothing happens at all… What I am doing wrong? Could you give me step by step explanation… Thanks.


(if I do SBC from 5.1.1 with a 3.11 will the quality be smaller and better than the original? By how much I can reduce the size without compromizing the quallity 10%,20% or 25%.....)

Nandub is meant to be used with DivX 3.11 or MS-MPEG4 video codec. it cannot be used with DivX 5.1.1. So use VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod instead.

to answer your question:

makes sure that all files are in the directory...
what ever what version you are using of nandub...
there should be an executable
some profiles files (vcf/ncf)
and some other files in the archive

if they are missing, just redownload the install from doom9 site
(included in gknot pack)
and reinstall...

And of course nandub is meant to be used for divx 3.11 or mpeg4v2 ...
so if you really want to use another codec, just go use vdub or vdubmod or avs2avi or any tool you like, but not nandub
since it will probably not support it at all...

Well there are in the download some default vcf files but no ncf files... When I go to first pass it asks me to save a stats file I press save but it does not save any thing... How do I save/do a stats file??? Can you upload some ncf/stats files for me to use? (thought I would like to be able to do that my self...)

Well,

I was talking of vcf/ncf depending the nandub version you may have encountered...

Back to your problem.

Nandub is supposed to be installed somewhere, say c:\nandub

in this directory, you must have the default first pass profile
which should exists as 'default.1st.pass.vcf'

The cause of error you are getting is that nandub does not find the file,
and cannot sets properly the 1st pass settings...

So extracts all of the files in the nandub archive in the correct directory and retry ...
