how can i find out if my graphics card supports overlay + direct draw

any ideas on how i can find out this information.

I have the rage 128 pro graphics card (32MB)

do graphic cards effect capture performace ??????. my computer is locking up and freezing when i try to watch or record on my computer using the hauppauge wintv pvr 250.

run dxdiag.exe from the command prompt. It is included in directX, so you already have it on your system.

But it would have to be a truly ancient card not to support those two. I am pretty sure the ati rage 128 pro does both, and your problems originate somewhere else.

I absolutely agree. I guess it's a driver problem (Hauppage drivers tend to be problematic). I don't know the WinTV pvr, I only have an old WinTV PCI, but it took Hauppage about 2 years until they finally delivered fully working drivers for my card... ;)
