For owners of AIW Radeons, it now supports capturing directly to MPEG-4 (seems pretty good so far), and allows 704x480 MPEG captures.
It seems that the installer is a bit picky (from reading the forum at rage3d.com), though I didn't experience any major issues when installing (except that it seems to require the latest Catalyst 3.10 drivers on my system).

Wondered if anyone here had had problems with ATI MMC 8.8, where if any window moves over the UI of the application, it slows down considerably. This is most easily demonstrated by moving the "Capture" window over the TV app window during a capture. You'll start to drop frames like mad, and the droppage tapers off once you move the capture window away again.
Can't tell if this is my computer or 8.8, but I don't remember it happening in 8.7....

I don't have this problem, probably because I have a HT P4, but I did notice the repaint got much slower somewhere along one of the 8.x release (that was before 8.7, though).
Do you have closed captions or teletext enabled ?

Just throwing my "me too" in the ring.
I have the same slow down when I move/drag a Windows window that is sitting on top of the TV viewer around or away. I've got version 8.6. With a 3Ghz P4 processor, with HT enabled.
