:confused: Hello, I've been trying to create a VCD from DVD format using DVD2SVCD. I have a fairly old dvd player that won't play SVCDs and so I need VCD format. I've loaded the template for VCD and I've tried to convert the file but this is the 2nd time I've gotten this error message. Previously, I had created this same file to SVCD format with no problems, what am I doing wrong? Here is my log file:

Hi ellore

In your working directory there should be a VCXbuilder_log have you looked at that may give you a clue, if not post that too and let the experts on this Forum take a look.

This may not be there unless you checked the Dont delete any Files on the Misc Tab in DVD2SVCD I cant remember if it gets deleted or not??

Hope this helps

Mark

Hello, I have done as you asked.....but this makes no sense to me...the chapters were fine in SVCD mode....?????please help

VCX-builder_log.txt

Hi Again

C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\Movie\VCDXBU~1.XML:637: validity error: IDREF attribute ref reference an unknown ID "entry-chapt-02"

Sorry not gonna be a lot of help here, but I have had a look at the last encode I did an SVCD, VCD maybe different, 3 VCDXbuild_script_*.XML files are generated by what process I don't know, one for each set of cue/bin files, basically is only a script and not knowing xml at all, but what i can see is trying to do create an entry point for the start of Chapter 2 and is using BBMPEG*.MPG so maybe problem with that file or the script (see below)

</folder>
</filesystem>
<sequence-items>
<sequence-item src="F:\GANGSO~1\BBMPEG~1.MPG" id="sequence-00">
<default-entry id="entry-000"/>

874.550

1355.030

1594.910

2049.830

2378.350

2689.550

</sequence-item>
</sequence-items>

Now after that I get a bit lost except I also found a D2SCCD_VCDXbuilder_log which had the following line

--DEBUG: requested entry point (id=entry-chapt-02) at 874.550000, closest possible entry point at 874.640000
What that may mean I guess is the script says make an entry point here but for whatever reason it can't moves to the closest point

So as I don't know how all the programs D2S use's link together and what does what I can't say what is causing the problem but maybe worth checking all the logs and comparing them with a successful encode you have done you never know it maybe something obvious

Sorry post was so long
Mark
