does anyone use this option?

I have a nec 1300a and used 4x tyg01 (fuji) media. I made a copy off the hard drive @ 4x speed, and selected data validation. My copy failed the validation: VOB 1_1 & 1_3 were noted as being "different".

However, the disk seemed to play fine on the pc at least...I didn't watch the whole thing, but skipped through all the chapters and watched the ending. So does the validation in nero 6 really mean anything?

P.S. since I am new to this and it wasn't answered in the sticky threads: Nero defaults to a VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folder, but even most commercial DVDs only have a VIDEO_TS folder w/ the audio embedded in it...to get my copies to play on a standalone (other standalone issues aside) does the file structure just need to have the VIDEO_TS folder, and everything else inside that, or is there some reason to keep the AUDIO_TS folder.

I'm using smartripper and IFoedit for the ripping and stripping jobs.

sorry for the long questions, but I'm trying to learn.

Thanks

The AUDIO_TS folder is only needed for older dvd players for compatibility and can be an empty folder. Most, if not all, newer dvd players don't need it. I always include it even though my dvd player doesn't need it.

I've seen some commercial DVD movies with only a VIDEO_TS folder out now, so they must assume there are no ancient DVD players anymore that require an AUDIO_TS folder now.
