I've tried to search this forum for a while searching for an answer to this problem, but I can't find it anywhere.. so that's why I'm making this thread... If someone already has answered this, please direct me to the thread...
Anyway, the problem is not complicated. After installing XviD-1.0-Beta2-05122003.exe, Windows Media Player 9 will crash no mather what *.avi I'll try playing. I've got ffdshow, tried all settings for XviD codec there (libavcodec, disabled and XviD), doesn't work...
I've also installed the XviD directshow-filter XviD-Dec-1.0-preBeta3.exe, with no success...
It was only WMP9 which crashed after the install... all other players, like Media Player Classic and so on works... But anyway, it would be nice to have WMP9 working with XviD beta 2++ as well... and it's not only me who has this problem, the excact same problem appeared with a friend of mine. He installed first WMP9 and then DivX 5.1 and then XviD beta2, and now nothing works on WMP9... and this was on a newly formatted comp....
And yes, I'm running Windows XP Pro...
Any help would be appreciated :)
