VirtualDub error code -2 XviD's fault?

For some reason that escapes me, ive run into a problem while trying to encode with vdub using XviD.

ive been using Koepi's latest stable XviD (XviD-04102002-1) along with his latest standalone decoder DirectShow filter (XviD 24062003-1) and trying to run them with Vdub 1.5.10.

The machine i use to encode is a 3ghz P4 with XPPro and a Radeon 9200se.

So, to get to the point, i can open my vfapi .avi file with vdub no problem and load the 2 filters i use (Donald Graft's Smartsmoother an Warpsharp)again with no problem. I can configure the codec properly (2pass 1st, 2pass 2nd Int). The problem only shows up when i open the job controll and attempt to run the job. I get:

"The source image format is not acceptable (error code -2)"

I set up vdub, xvid etc. as per normal when i loaded all my software onto this computer and the 1st time i tried it, everything worked flawlessly. I didnt change any of my settings, but now everytime i try to run something, im hitting this wall.

Also, at this moment, i can't even play back any of my previous encodes with Windows Media Player (my default player).

I am wondering if it is somesort of codec conflict brought about from the gfx card because if i remove all of its drivers/tools etc. I can get playback through WMP, but still cant encode.

If anyone can suggest anything, i will be forever in their debt.

You're not giving a video in a proper format to XviD. That means either your resolution isn't mod8 ( or 16, I never know ), or that you use a colorspace ( RGB, YUY2, YV12 ... ) unsupported by the codec. I don't think it's the second solution since you're in 'full processing mode'.

Playback through WMP isn't linked to your issue with encoding. I don't know what may go wrong in the playback in your case ( what is the error message, etc... )
