hi guys...
i'm a relative newbie at this encoding stuff.
i downloaded auto GK cuz it sounded like a perfect tool for newbies such as my self to encode to xvid/divx.
anyway,i ripped the files properly, and encountred no dificulties there, ran autoGK,set my options and let it run...
my problem is,that no matter how many times i try, autoGK finishes after like,1/2 hour and all i get as an end result is a .d2v file...

what am i doing wrong here?

thanks for the help

Hello there!

My problem:
AutoGK doesnīt work with the lastest XviD codecs!
Only the 20030624-xvid (koepiīs build) codec work correctly?

Correct:
I donīt choose forced subtitles, only select one subtitle in step 3!
But! When i watching the preview, there i have the doubled subtitles!
Question: This effect leave in the final *.avi? Or normally one subtitle (burnt-in) remain?
Thanks & sorry for my "darkness" [in my mind]!

Let me tell you something:

I ripping a concert DVD to my HDD... I made this in IFO-Mode (DVDDecrypter)...
But!!! The movie is halved (or halfed?)... Well, in first PGC is 1:06:30 and in another PGC have a 0:56:06 piece!
In IFO-Mode only the first piece be ripped!
...After I made in File-Mode the ripping, and see a miracle... :)
AutoGK nicely encoding the concert in a 2 CDīs rip!
I read in doom9 forum and the help file of AutoGK that, AutoGK not fully support the File-Modeīs rip!
But why?

[My english is very very poor... Sorry!]

Hi-

What you saw is pretty unusual, but not unheard of. Although ripping in File Mode the way you did will work most of the time, there will be other times when it won't work, and you should stick with IFO Mode. If the movie is in 2 different PGCs, as yours was, first rip them to 2 different folders (using IFO Mode). Then rename the ones from the 2nd part of the movie as continuations of those of the 1st part, and then put them in the same folder, start up AutoGK, and continue. For example:

MoviePartOne Folder:
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
MoviePartTwo Folder:
VTS_02_1.VOB
VTS_02_2.VOB
Rename the vobs in MoviePartTwo as:
VTS_01_4.VOB
VTS_01_5.VOB
and then put them in the MoviePartOne Folder.

And your English is fine. :)
