View Full Version : Making video fit DVD with Studio 8?

I used my Radeon 8500 AIW with Studio 8.10 to capture a high school football game last week. When I got through removing commercials and building chapters, the program is telling me that my project is too big (26 minutes) to fit onto a DVD-R. Is there any way that I could have Studio output to .vob files that I could use DVD Shrink on to help make them fit?

I've checked it a few times and I don't see any option to do this. It does have a custom bitrate window, I guess I could adjust it but I don't know what the minimum acceptable bitrate would be to make it fit. Any suggestions?

A very quick calculation is that for a 26 mins video with 448kbs ac3 file, u can reach up to a bitrate of 23Mbs whereas dvd only climbs up to 10mbs for the combined av stream. So the problem isn't the defined bitrate by the Studio but actually wrong destination media type.

If I may guess, u have selected a cd for output.

I would agree with oddyseus that you picked svcd instead of dvd under the make movie option. If you really have gone over the length of the dvd by 26 mins then you could select the automatic mode under the settings section of the make movie tab. The automatic mode will make the video fit the media by reducing the bitrate. You will sacrifice quality for more video time though.
