PS2 Video support

i have pal PS2 that run original pal or ripped perfectly.......
but i have not tried anything else like vcd put on DVD.. so what i mean is did anybody know which resolution PS2 support
it is only 720X576 or 480
or it can run SVCD or VCD on DVD Video........
did anybody try it.........

I have tried 704x576 PAL and 352x576 PAL in mpeg2 and it works.
I have not tried mpeg1 on DVD or any non-standard resolution mpeg2 (like 480x576) DVD on PS2.
