Hello. i am encoding a 42 minutes video taken from dvd. Target filesize is 318000 and target resolution is 640x360. First i used the settings explained in the article http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/xvid-vdub-final.htm , but i obtained a 268000kb file. I must say that quality was really great for that size, but i need to reach the target size, so i made some changes to the settings. I tried maximum consecutive BVOPs: 4 and quatizer ratio% = 2.00. Maximum Iframe interval: 200 ; Min/Max I frame Quantizer: 2/6; Min/Max P frame Quantizer: 2/16 ; Min/Max B frame Quantizer: 2/16. This time i got better results: a 301828 kb file, again veeeery good quality.
Someone can explain me why this undersize issues occur and what can i do to solve the problem? i already thought about setting higher resolution, but i'd rather avoid that.
