Hi,
My question is about Bus speed, i have at the moment a dual durron 1.3ghz (2.6ghz in theory), but the Bus is 200mhz , the newer XP series are clocked at 266, and even newer ones are at 300mhz??? So would one 2.6ghz (at 266mhz bus) be faster at encoding than 2 1.3ghz (at 200mhz)?
i hope i explained my confusion and i hope you guys can clarify this for me, i get 53-60fps on my general encoding, but if i knew i could get >60fps with one 266mhz bus CPU then i will upgrade and mod the XP chip and have a 4.4ghz(or more) :p lol , thanks in advanced.

First off all two Duron 1.3Mhz processors are NOT = one 2.6 MHz CPU even not in theory) briefly, In SMP environment it's up to encoding applications to offload its I/O processing across the CPUs or in other words this process is not about joining 2 physical processors into one logical CPU , far from it.

Yes, 266 FSB would be better then 200 since the CPU can process greater data bandwidth which is 1.6 GB/s for 200FSB and 2.6 GB/s for 266FSB (however there are a few factors limiting performance quite a bit, nevertheless IMHO do that upgrade,
You should expect considerable performance boost with two Athlon CPUs (higher FSB aside Athlon is architecturally superior then Duron)

On the side note, you'll have to upgrade your memory modules as well, I'd highly recommend you to get high quality low latency DDR-266 Cas-2 RAM, don't' compromise on this one.

Thanks for clearing that up , i think i will be upgrading soon . The L5 mod for the Xp cpu is a must! MP are way too expensive, if the two i get do not work , it will still be cheaper to buy another new one lol.
