Field order with Hauppauge WinTV and DC10+ cards

I capture TV on two devices. A Pinnacle DC10+ connected directly to a cable box and a Hauppauge WinTV PCI card connected to an antenna. I was finding that shows recorded off the DC10+ card (using IUVCR), encoded using the Mainconcept MPEG2 encoder and then burnt to DVD would flicker badly but shows processed the same way on the Hauppauge card would be fine. Turns out to be a field order problem. The Hauppauge records Top Field A while the DC10+ records Bottom Field B. So using the same settings in the Mainconcept encoder, one would be right, one would be wrong! Took me a while to work this one out, especially when the DVD's played on another DVD player were fine irrespective of Field Order processing
