I have just installed DVD2SVCD on a new machine(Win XP). I am using DVD2SVCD build2 with avisysth 2.5. When I try to convert a DVD to SVCD or VCD with TMPGEnc, right when the encoding starts it gives me message could not open avi file, avi script not supported.
I used the same script with avisynth2.5 and it worked perfect on my other machine. So basically I am trying to figure out if someone had the same problem or suggest anything that I can do to get it working.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I am using TMPGEnc plus 2.58. I have also tried latest 2.521 also.

In dvd2svcd > advanced dropdown of the TMPG encoder tab is "use readavs.dll in TMPG" checked? Also, in TMPG itself, options>environmental settings>VFAPI you may need to increase the priority of readavs. Hey all this is from a distant memory so it may be incorrect, but I thought it better to mention than pass this post by. I also remember something about having to uncheck directshow but that may not be accurate any longer. It is a common problem so a search should turn up something.

Thanks DDogg, I tried that but it does not work. I also tried to increase priority of .avi file in VFAPI settings on TMPGEnc.
Any other ideas even if you want me to try that out. I tried to search on it but could not find anything. Couple of guys asked this question a while back but no one answered in these forums. Thanks again.

1) Can you open the avs in vdub/vdubmod?
2) If so, take a look at the first item of:
http://www.avisynth.org/index.php?page=Section+2%3A+AviSynth+and+frameserving#q2.4
