Well this is my first post and I have done a search to see if anyone has discussed this but that came up empty.
I have converted by Finding Nemo DVD to Xvid and got a very nice quality 700mb file, now I tried writing this to vcd using nero 6 but it makes the file to big to fit on a cd, so how would I go about splitting the file?
I have tried Virtual Dub but it give me an error stating that it Couldn't find compressor for format (XVID).
Any help would be appreciated

Let's assume you have Xvid codec installed in order to let VirtualDub open the file. Then you must set option "direct stream copy" in both Video and Audio menus in VirtualDub. Mark appropriate segments of video and make "save as avi". It should save marked segments using its native codec without re-encoding them.
Another option: if you've got a file 700 mb size and Nero still can't burn it to a single CD, try setting Nero's overburn mode. Possible you need only 1-2 mb of spare space on the CD to fit the movie. Most of CDs can afford that.

Thanks for the reply, I tried all that and it gave me an error stating that it couldn't find an audio compressor :(
But I found a way to finally get it split using nandub, worked like a charm :)
Thanks for the help...

Norrad, by the way, you used the term VCD in your post. I hope you're aware that the CD you're creating won't be readable on your hardware DVD player.

first thing i noticed is that you tried to do a VCD and for that u did a avi in xvid format from the DVD .... wich u should had done is a mpeg1 cvd compilant stream, so you load it up on nero via create vcd menu.
now or you create a iso compilant cd and burn you xvid avi file
or you convert(again...) your xvid to vcd format.
anyway you got a bunch of guides on this site ,so just browse them :)

Thanks alot everyone ;)
I used managed to use nandub to split the file into 2 avi files of 400mb each then used nero to create a vcd of each one, the quality is not that good but definately watchable :p
