View Full Version : Huffyuv captured video misread by Sonic Foundry products

I captured 2 hours of raw video from a VHS tape using the huffyuv encoder packaged with the Gordian Knot 1.5 codec pack. I can play the AVI perfectly in Quicktime, Windows Media Player 9, TMPGEnc, etc.

However, when I load the file in Sonic Foundry DVD Architect 1.0 or Vegas 4.0, the video has the colors freaked out. I don't know how to explain it, but I guess it's not interpretting the color space compression (or whatever the Huffy codec does) properly.

Any ideas how I can resolve this problem? I want to take the raw Huffy avi and have DVD Architect encode it straight into a DVD/vob video with menues, chapters, etc.

Thanks.

Yes, it is an easy fix I believe and you should not have to recapture. Just check the "Always suggest RGB format for output". That should fix it when you reload your cap into Vegas. Let me know if it does. I ran into this today myself so that's why I am pretty sure that will get you going.

YES! That fixed it.

Thank you very much.
