Compulsory disclaimer: First, I am horribly sorry if this has been asked before. I believe I have done sufficient searches, but if not I’m sorry.

Anyway, my problem is this: I just picked up a copy of the Futurama boxed set, and I’m angling to get them on to my hard drive. Now, I have every dvd I own backed up (I use r4r, Gordian knot, and DivX ;-), however this is the first non-movie dvd I have tried to back up. What is happening is that r4r is only extracting the .vob files and the sound file for one of the episodes (not the first one either, interestingly enough). I have done a sufficient amount of messing around that I am confident my lame arse needs some help. So here I am throwing my self on the mercy of the food court, as it were.

All advice appreciated. Pants will be awarded to all persons contributing to the resolution my painful itch of a problem.

Hello and welcome to the forum-

By default, DVDDecrypter (which is used by Robot4Rip) selects the longest PGC (or in this case, episode), which is why the first one wasn't chosen. If you look around in the other VTS's, you should see the other episodes. They'll be of a similar, but maybe slightly shorter length.

So you'll have to decrypt and encode them all separately. You could join them all together at the DVD2AVI stage by doing the joining manually, though. There's a chance you'll run into audio synch problems if you do that, so I'd recommend keeping them separate. Just make a new folder for each episode that you're backing up. Then if you plan to put 2 episodes on a CD, you can make each episode 350 MB, or something like that.
