I know this is not directly related to this thread, but it is similar..

I'm using AVI2DVD (1.2.1 B3) for attempting to convert XVID and DIXV to DVD. The whole process runs through smoothly, and I get everything I expect. However, when I use NERO 6 to burn the DVD, I end up with a movie which has large chunks missing i.e. upto 5 minutes at a time. Also, these missing chunks of footage appear later on in the movie - after the end titles!!

All help/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - welcome to the forum. You're the second first-time poster tonight and the second Geordie!

I assume you are using Scrnarist to create a disc image. What exactly are you using Nero to burn? Are you using the "burn image" option and browsing for the discimage.dvd or are you using the "DVD video" option then dragging-and-dropping the ifo & vob files?

Get hold of DAEMON Tools - (google will find easily). It creates a virtual DVD drive on your system. Install it, launch it, click the red "lightening" icon that appears in the tray near the time/date and mount the *.dvd disc image file. Launch Win/Power DVD (whichever) with no discs in the physical drives. Does the DVD play correctly when you do that?

If so you're doing something wrong in the burning. Rename the .dvd file .iso and burn it with DVD Decryptor (freeware - doom9 downloads page) by setting it to ISO write mode.

If it plays wrong from daemon tools, try playing the ripped vobs in Win/PowerDVD. If they play well, post your logfile and so on (see Mandatory Read sticky on how to post a problem). If they play wrongly there's a problem with the rip. Try vStrip if you used internal routines (and vice versa).

That should give you plenty to chew on. Post again if you're still struggling.

Good luck
Nick

Thanks for the reply - I have now narrowed a few things down.
I was using NERO wizard to create a DVD i.e. copy across the VOB Files etc. I tried renaming the Image to ISO and burning it, but exactly the same thing happened. Also, when I mounted it with DAEMON tools and played it using Power DVD, I had the same problem i.e. it missed about 5 minutes out of the movie. But, when I played the VOB files with Power DVD it worked fine - the bits of the movies that had previously been cut out where there, and played fine.

Is there any other way that I can create a DVD from the 3 VOB Files I have?
