1-Cannot locate a frame syncword at an expexted byte offset, data might be corroupt(OXC170042)
2-Temporal refrences in a gop are out of sequence(OXC1070034)

Well, there are a couple of possibilities I would like you to check:
1) Are you doing interlaced encodes with progressive flag checked in the encoder, or vice-versa?
2) Are you making sure to add sequence headers every GOP?
3) Do you have a legal GOP length set in the encoder parameters? (I'm not sure if the MPX3000 will even allow illegal GOPs to be specified, but please check this anyway).
These are just suggestions. Since you have never experienced these problems in the past, I am speculating that you have inadvertantly altered one of the above settings (I am partocularly suspicious of suggestion number 1). If none of these prove to be at fault, then I will strive to come up with further suggestions, but it may be a struggle!
Incidentally, I'm very envious of your MPX3000! You are a very lucky man.
Best of luck.

P.S. it would be a great help if you would post ALL your encoder settings here. I know it's a bit of a chore, but it would make identifying your problem a great deal easier.

Hi Zerohash, sorry for the delay -
Of the parameters you have provided, I see nothing apparently wrong.
However, you have not listed anything regarding field-order. Can you tell me whether you have tried swapping the field order of your encodes, to solve your problem? (as a side issue, I assume you are actually using interlaced source material).
Secondly, you do not mention whether you are encoding PAL or NTSC - if it's NTSC, and you are using pulldown, then this is an important possibility (which I should have mentioned in my first response - sorry). Since you state a GOP length of 15 frames, though, I presume that PAL is your format.
I won't lie to you - I am a little bewildered at your Maestro error messages, so I am simply trying to work through the possibilities, however unlikely they may seem, in order to narrow down the possible causes.
Please let me know your thoughts on the above.
Kind regards,
Arky ;o)

Hey, Zerohash - did you ever reach a conclusion as to what has been causing the problem?

Thanks Arky,
Thanks for your mail.I did not find any reasons on this problem.Right now i am doing Encoding with 4Beta tapes. All three went fine but the 4 tape gave me error at 35th minute.I started encoding again and again i got error at 12mts and again at 4mts.Now i have dissconected the remote cable and doing manual encode.I am at 20mts and going fine.I might encode this tape in 2 pices to save time.
Please let me know if you find something.
Thanks
Zerohash.
