Can we vote here tools and programs as "The Tool Of The Year"?

I use so many great tools, that I feel saying one is the best leaves out so many. But let me add a nomination.

EclCCE - A new tool to 2003, perhaps not as complex a program as others but it adds a bunch of functionality to several versions of CCE.

Regarding a tool. As I can't vote for myself, I'd say VDubMod is a good candidate as well :)

Tool of the year...

I vote for compilers in general. Every year. Without them you wouldn't have other tools - and this gives respect to all tools which we'll sure forget in the list.

seriously though, there are too many to pick just one. many tools doing different things for different reasons and/or people. all such a poll would show is what most people are doing and what tool they generally use.

Isn't what we call exactly tool of the year? It's not Best Video Aplication (which would be hard to choose indeed)...

well you could just say most used tool of the year then really. it doesnt mean its the best or inovative or anything. just that its what the majority use.

maybe several polls such as best avi related tool and best dvd related tool etc would be more interesting and show a wider spread.

Well, to some extent popularity of user actions is influenced by ability to do them. How many ppl would make DVD-SVCD rips withough DVD2SVCD? the same goes for AVI and others. Innovation is important factor, but it's becoming more scientific award rather than user-oriented...
