I have a problem with a BUP file on a DVDR that I have
In DVD shrink it is reporting Invalid IFO/ BUP VTS_04_0.BUP does anyone know of a program I can use to look at this files content and maybe recreate it?
What kind of information does a .BUP hold?
Thanks

A BUP file is a backup of the IFO, and is supposed to be exactly the same as the matching IFO. You should be able to look at it using IfoEdit, though you may need to change the extension to IFO.
Odd that Shrink is reporting an error. I have no idea what the error *really* means. You might be able to get around it by moving the original BUP somewhere else, then copying and renaming the matching IFO (or alternatively moving the IFO and copying the BUP).

TopCat : Is that a DVD+R? I've had the same problems with +R discs that were recorded on a Philips 990 DVD recorder. Somehow the recorder copyprotects the disc!
Kedirekin : I've tried to rename the .IFO to .BUP (BUP is the backup file of the ISO), but that gave me a toaster.

Did you copy the IFO and rename the copy, or just rename the original IFO? If you just renamed the original, you may have created a DVD backup with no IFO for that particular title set. DVDs require an IFO and a BUP for every title set.
If you did make a copy and renamed the copy, then something else is causing the problem. The most likely thing is that the VTS sectors are off - you should use IfoEdit or IfoUpdate to get the VTS sectors.
Also, I would recommend you check things with a software player before every burn, and burn to RW disks till you chase down the problem.
