Video in DV but Audio in MiniDisc, how to edit?

Hi guys.
I need to copile to DVD, some seminars that was grabbed in two different medias: the video was grabbed with a MiniDV cam, but the audio was recorded directly to a MiniDisc recorder. The video has a audio channel, but with noise and low volume.
Anyone could figure how to sinchronize those, than make some edition?
Could I use Premiere or some other program to deal with this problem?

Welcome to the forum.

I don't have experience with MiniDisc recorders, but as far as I know they use a proprietary Sony ATRAC codec. If you can't decode that to WAV, you probably have to record the sound track to the PC via sound card line-in. As soon as you have the sound on your hdd, you can use Premiere to manually synchronize video and audio. This can be a lot of work, though.

I would capture the audio from the minidisc recorder via analog in on your sound card. I wouldn't bother messing with trying to convert it digitally.

MiniDisc's native sampling rate is 44.1 kHz. If you got that out of the minidisc digitally, I doubt you could ever get it to synchronize properly to your video. You would have to convert the sample rate with something like Sound Forge first, and even then it might be iffy.

Record it via analog in at 48 kHz and it should then be able to sync properly on the Premiere timeline.

Ok guys, thanks for the advices.

I'll try to capture via line-in.
It will be my first time.
I allways use programs like Studio8 that captures both audio and video streams. I don't think that the sound recorder of WindowsXP can be used. Could you advice me a good program?

Actually the XP sound recorder works fine for the purpose. But you can use any other sound recorder just as well.
