View Full Version : Having trouble with new encode and MKV container

I just finished encoding a brand new XviD file which works great on it's own using the XviD 1.0b2 build. I've tried muxing it into a MKV container along with two OGG audio streams, chapter info, and one SRT subtitle file but none of my media players will play it. I've tried muxing with all the latest builds of the various applications in the Matroska FAQ and each time it comes a new file is muxed without errors. I am using the DefilerPak 1.12 for playback. If I try muxing the same files into an OGM container everything works just as it should on all media players on all platforms. If I try to demux the MKV file, all files muxed in come out error free. What could my problem be?

Do you have the Matroska Splitter installed? If not, install one of these packs. (http://packs.matroska.org/)

Yes I do, it's included in the DefilerPak (http://hellninjacommando.com/defilerpak), and if you try to install that over the DP it will mess things up.

Try to render the file in GraphEdit. See how it renders and say what filters it loads.

Did you disable lacing?
Try muxing with AVI-Mux GUI. The latest version supports OGG/Vorbis - Input files, and disables lacing for Vorbis streams as default setting.
